Overview
Thimphu, being the capital and the most developed city in Bhutan, the hotel infrastructures, facilities and services are comparatively better than those in other places. Places like Paro, Punakha and beyond mostly have resort type and old structure accommodation. Almost all the resorts and hotels in these areas are located away from the main town and scattered throughout the valley. The services and the facilities may not be comparable to those in Thimphu.

Day 01: NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport – Phuentsholing
(Distance: 170 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 mts.)
Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing (961 ft.) - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. It is a thriving commercial centre on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.
Day 02: Phuentsholing – Thimphu
(Distance: 176 kms. / Driving Time: 6 hrs. / Altitude of Thimphu: 2350 mts.)
After breakfast complete the immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing – Punakha / Wangdue
(Distance: 77 kms. / Driving Time: 3 hrs. / Altitude of Punakha: 1310 mts.)
After breakfast visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue), National Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon transfer to Punakha(4298 ft.) / Wangdue Phodrang (4,300 ft.), via Dochu-La-Pass (10,170 ft.) to view the higher Himalayas. The pass also has 108 Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chorten which is believed brings multi fold merit to all sentient beings and which make the pass a must visit place. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang.
Day 04: Paro Sightseeing
Morning visit Chimi Lhakhang at Lobesa, later transfer to Paro, Have lunch and visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has a fine collection of ancient Thangka painting, textiles, weapons and artifacts. Evening walk around the Ugyen Pelri Palace and the traditional wooden bridge. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 05: Paro Sightseeing – Phuentsholing
Morning drive till to the road end point of Taktsang and hike to Taktsang monastery on the way back visit the ruins of Drugyel Dzong. This Dzong is of historical importance, from whose ramparts the Bhutanese repelled Tibetan invaders. On a clear day one can view the sacred Mount Chhomolhari, Mountain of Goddess (24,000 ft). Later visit Kichu Monastery. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.
Day 06: Paro Sightseeing – Pling
Early morning drive till to the road end point of Taktsang and hike to Taktsang monastery (time take around 3- hrs one uphill and 2 hrs downhill). After lunch drive to pling. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 07: Phuentsholing – NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport
(Distance: 170 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of NJP/IXB: 89 mts.)
After breakfast check out from the hotel and take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.

AC Vehicles and Supplements:
Due to Bhutan’s location, altitude and clean environment, AC is generally not required in most of the parts. However it may be hot during some of the days (in the months of May, June, July) and in some parts of the country (such as Phuentsholing and Punakha/Wangdue). Even during these times weather is pleasant except for those days when it is sunny.
In case, of any requests for AC vehicle, Please note the following:
Supplement cost as per vehicle selection would be applicable.
The AC shall be switched on only when the Vehicle is on move. When the car is travelling uphill AC will be put off (as this interferes with the performance of the vehicle).
Due to limited AC vehicles in Bhutan, the request for AC vehicles needs to be confirmed well in advance.

Important Facts for Travelers:
Entry Permit for Bhutan: Indian nationals do not require visa to travel in Bhutan. However they require an entry permit which will have to be processed on arrival. They can also avail advance permits online through a registered tour operator in Bhutan.
